Boots UK

Historically Boots had a decentralised recruitment operation with it's individual stores very much self-sufficient. The principle drivers for change were:
- to increase the 'customer care' capability of new hires
- to ensure excellent 'candidate care' throughout the process
- to drive efficiencies and cost reduction
The 'Recruitment Transformation' project saw Peak Talent on-site at Boots' Head Office for an 8 month period and its involvement and direction was centered on the implementation of:
- a 'centralised' recruitment function (a hybrid model of Boots employees and a 3rd party RPO)
- implementation of a new Applicant Tracking System (I-grasp)
- implementation of behavioural screening tools across all populations - customer sales, pharmacy and management
- greater emphasis on the web as the principle channel to market
Dave Vallance, HR Operations Director at Boots, said :
"the new system would enable the firm to attract and select better quality people, and simplify the process for applicants and recruiting managers. Getting these things right will enhance our employment brand, and free-up time in our stores to focus on our customers".
